Do you have trouble getting enough volunteers to run a summer VBS program? Would you like to run two VBS programs at your congregation during the summer but don't have the resources to run both of them yourself? What do you think of bringing a week of Camp Dixie to your congregation? You can with Camp Dixie Traveling VBS. During Traveling VBS, Camp Dixie will send five counselors to lead a week-long program at your church for up to 50 campers. The counselors stay in congregation members homes, and spend the day at your site with your campers!. Our mission for day camp is this: To partner with congregations in leading a congregation-based five day VBS program for children that enables participants to experience God's Grace, Love and Guidance through hands on Bible Study, devotions, interaction with energetic camp staff, skits, games, and other camp related activities. Traveling VBS is a new program for many congregations, so here's a brief word on how it works. Camp Dixie will train five counselors whose job it will be to lead the Traveling VBS program. Your congregation will contract with Camp Dixie to have the five counselors come out and lead the program at your congregation at a cost of $1500. For a full VBS of 50 campers, that's only $30 per person. During the day, the counselors will lead your campers in a full blown VBS program, and Camp Dixie will even provide all the programming materials that are needed for the week. During the evening, the Traveling VBS counselors will stay in host homes in your congregation. Three meals a day will be required for the Traveling VBS counselors and will be provided by the host homes, or the congregation, however you would like to do it. Finally on Friday, the Traveling VBS counselors will finish off the week with a closing program, and head back to Camp Dixie, and your congregation will reflect on the great week of VBS!
